Flying School

All of our Helicopters are fitted with dual controls and during the flight you will be encouraged to fly the aircraft yourself with the assistance of our flight Instructor.
This is a perfect gift for friends and family or if you are up for a challenge, why not try it for yourself. Our trial lessons and tailored 'taster' courses all give accountable flying towards the issue of your licence, if you later decide to continue towards your PPL (H).
Considerable savings are also possible by purchasing the lesson directly from a training provider. Gift vouchers are available and are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

Flying School
AV8 can assist you in gaining your Private Pilot’s Licence for Helicopters – PPL(H), providing you with the freedom of the sky, not just in this country, but throughout the world. Comprehensive pilot training is conducted from our JAA approved Flight Training Organisation at Rochester Airport.
Courses include Private Pilot Training (PPL(H)), Commercial Pilot (modular) Training (CPLH), Type Conversions, Instrument Training, Night Training and Flight Examiner Courses. All abinitio pilot training is conducted in a Robinson R22. This aircraft has excellent training pedigrees and is used extensively in pilot training schools throughout the world.
Freedom of the Sky
With us, experienced pilots can progress to undertake a modular course for their Commercial Helicopter Pilot’s Licence. We also offer type conversion courses.
Quality Assurance
Obtaining your PPL (H) or CPL (H) is a very rewarding experience. All AV8’s training is conducted under the Civil Aviation Authority/Joint Aviation Authorities (CAA/JAA) syllabus to ensure the highest standards of instruction, accountability and quality assurance.
AV8 Helicopters understand that people have different needs and time constraints. Each modular course is designed to give the flight experience and aviation technical knowledge stipulated for the issue of the appropriate internationally recognised licence.
